A Gift from God

A few weeks ago, my husband Joseph and I embarked on a long journey from our home in Nazareth, Galilee, to Joseph's home town Bethlehem, Judea. We traveled with only a donkey and a few belongings, and when we arrived in Bethlehem, we found that all the inns were full. At the time, I was very pregnant and I needed a place to sleep. After multiple hours of looking for a place to stay, we found a stable, and made it our home for a few days. While staying in the stable, I went into labor and there was no time to move into a nicer area. Our baby was born in a stable, on a stack of hay, and that night he fell asleep to the sound of cows mooing and sheep bleating. I named the little boy, Jesus, just as the angle had told me. I am overwhelmed and overjoyed at the sight of him, and I can already tell that he will someday make a terrific leader for us to follow.

Visiting Old Friends

A few days ago, I arrived at the house of Zechariah. I came to spend time with my friend Elizabeth. When I walked in the door, she greeted me with open arms. All of a sudden, as if the Holy Spirit had come upon her, she knew about the holy baby inside me. She was overjoyed and almost unable to speak. After a few minutes, she told me that as soon as she heard my voice, the baby inside of her seemed to have jumped. I cannot explain the happiness and joy that I feel right now, being with someone that understands the power of God. I am grateful for everything that God has given me, and I am looking forward to the next 3 months that I will be spending here with Zachariah and Elizabeth.

Blind Faith

A few days ago, the angel Gabriel came to me while I was praying. He told me that I was chosen to mother the son of God, and that I would name him Jesus. At first I was nervous, didn't really know how to respond, and was beyond scared. I knew it would be more than difficult, but it would also be more than rewarding. I used blind faith and decided to say yes, not knowing what was to come. As soon as the angel flew off, I ran to tell Joseph. He couldn't believe what had happened, and he told me that instead of having me stoned to death, he would quietly divorce me. I prayed to God over and over again, to send Joseph a message, telling him the truth. Last night, my prayers were answered! An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and explained everything to him. I am so grateful to God for giving me this gift, and I can't wait for the baby to be born!
